Bestest

This is a picture of me and my best friend from high school, Sharon.

We were the bestest of best friends. We met when I was 12 and had just moved back to Tennessee after living in Idaho for 8 years. I was the very scared new kid, and she and I just seemed to click. We could always be found at one or the other's house. We spent hours together on the phone. We laughed and cried over stupid boys together. We even made up nicknames for boys we liked so no one else would know who we were talking about! You name it, and we pretty much did it together: beauty pagents, cheerleading, BETA club, Student Council, Yearbook, had almost all of our classes together and we were pretty much inseperable. That is, until our senior year of high school when we started to drift apart. I will accept full responsibility for that, as I let a boy come between us. After graduation we lost touch completely... until 22 years later when we found each other on facebook! We chatted up a storm and made a lunch date. It was so much fun seeing each other again. She lives about an 1 1/2 hour away, and we plan on keeping in touch, both through facebook and trying to get together more often.

As I was cleaning up some stuff today, I came across several more pictures of us together. I thought that I would share some... others are just too embarrassing! :)

This is us in the 7th grade. The kid between us is Stacey... not really sure what he was doing here in this picture! Megan was laughing at me over my suspenders... hey, they were in fashion in the 80's!

Us again in 7th grade. This is the Jr. High Cheerleaders Homecoming "float". We got to ride on the firetruck when we got into high school, but I don't really have a good picture of us then.

We are Juniors in this picture... on the pep bus on the way to a football game. Don't you love those glasses?! A few months later I finally got contacts, and wished that I had them much earlier.

This is a newspaper clipping of us. Ha!

And last, but not least, a picture of us together from yearbook staff.

I wish that I had taken my camera with me when we met for lunch. She is still just as beautiful, and I would love to have an updated picture of us together. Next time!!
