New 'Do's

I had a hair appointment the other night, and I took the girls with me. Megan wanted to get hers trimmed up, and Kayti didn't really want anything done to hers. I have been wanting her to get a short, sassy cut for a while, but she has been resisting. She finally caved! Now if I could just get her to get up and fix it every morning we would be getting somewhere!

Megan surprised me and asked for bangs. I reminded her how long it took them to grow out the last time she didn't want them, but she didn't care. With her new cut she looks so much more like my sister, Kristi, that it is scary. My mom has a picture of Kris when she was in grade school with a very similar cut. I would love to find it and do a side-by-side of the two of them. Barry and I have laughed at Megan... since she got it cut all she does is walk around with a comb in her hand. Our little tom-boy has turned into a prissy girl!

Wow! Those kids sure have a bit of Mom in them don't they! These pictures bring back memories of you being that age Kim!
Congrats on another birthday! Isn't it amazing how we age a whole year in just one day?! It's just not right. If I remember right, isn't your birthday in 2009 the date for the last day of the analog signal broadcasting on TV? You will become a part of history! You will be ushering in the new digital age of television! What a celebration that will be!

Sounds like all is well with your family. I love the story of the haircut without the guide. It helps the rest of us appreciate the fact that you are human too. Some of us are just less willing to share our mistakes. I suppose your son could just use that experience as a metaphorical story sometime in a church talk, explaining how important it is to have a guide in your life, and that it takes a while for the repentance process to take effect (or the hair to grow back) when the guide is available but not used.
Sorry to hear about your husband having to work through much of your birthday - those credit unions just don't seem to know when to stop asking for so much!!:)
All is well here in Idaho. It is starting to warm up a bit and we are all excited for spring to come. It looks like it will not be another drought year as we have had so much in the past. That will be a nice change.
Our family is just a busy as ever with an orchestra concert last night for our oldest (Jansen) who plays the cello. Saturday was a music festival where Jansen and Leilani played their piano numbers in front of judges, and the Thursday night before was a piano recital in preparation for the festival. Throw in some basketball, Gifted & Talented programs, Activity days, Scouts and a smattering of other events and we've had a full week of activities just related to our children. From time-to-time we squeeze in some taxes and church meetings and baby blessings and parenting classes and similar events just to liven things up! We even went to the mountains a week ago to go sledding with our family. No injuries this time so it was enjoyable!
That's all for now I suppose. I will try to stay in touch more often though.
Take care!
